Negative evidence on Linux: "I just bought a Dell DA305 multiport adapter for my Dell G15 5510... when I try to do the same on Arch Linux, I get a black screen" trying to force refresh rates above 60Hz; forces YCbCr 4:2:2 chroma subsampling as a workaround. Also confirmed (with the same refresh-rate ceiling) on a Dell XPS 14.
