Confirmed with

  • Notebook (generic)

Fleet-management features (PXE boot, MAC address pass-through, synchronized power-on) only work with HP host laptops — they don't respond when paired with Dell, Lenovo, or Apple hardware. HP does not provide official network or audio drivers for macOS.

  • Steam Deck

An HP support community member documents a specific workaround: monitors stop being detected on hot-plug, but leaving the dock connected through a full cold shutdown and reboot of the Steam Deck restores video — the ACPI/hot-plug handshake fails, but the boot-time device tree mapping succeeds.
